Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (Dec. 28, 2015) – Trey Starks powered to a career-high eight victories in 2015.
The Washington native is aiming to continue that momentum as he kicks off his 2016 campaign this Friday at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., where he will compete in the $12,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start event that opens five races in nine days.
“Jeff McCall is on board and we’re going to work with him throughout the year in both our equipment and his,” he said. “We’re pretty confident going in. We think we have all the pieces put together with all the right equipment. I think we’re more prepared than we’ve ever been. That makes me more comfortable and more confident as a driver.”
Friday will mark the debut at Cocopah Speedway for Starks, who won races in five different states and who claimed his first career Western Sprint Tour championship in 2015.
“It looks like a really fun track,” he said. “It looks pretty wide and pretty racy. It’s a good size and it looks like you can race on it. That’s always good knowing you have a track you can really race on.”
Starks will also compete at the 3/8-mile oval on Saturday as well as Jan. 5 and Jan. 8-9.
