Inside Line Promotions – SHAWNEE, Okla. (Dec. 28, 2015) – Seth Bergman is hopeful his 2016 season will start on the right note.

Bergman, who is coming off a career-best year, will make his 2016 debut this Friday at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., during the $12,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start first night of the five-race Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown.

“I only got to run one night of Winter Heat last year,” he said. “It seemed like we were going to be competitive. It’s nice to know we were somewhat competitive.”

Bergman powered to an eighth-place result during the opener of the 2015 event before mechanical problems derailed the team for the remainder of the event.

“I’m just glad we get to go racing this early in the year,” he said. “I’ve been in the shop preparing everything so I know we’ll be ready when we get there. Hopefully we can stay away from the engine troubles.”

Bergman earned a career-best 13 wins and 35 top-five finishes last season, which gives him plenty of momentum entering his 2016 debut at a track he enjoys.

“It seems like it’s always racy if you have your race car right,” he said. “The track always seems to be there. It’s nice going to a track where you know you can make passes and be able to race.”

Bergman will also compete at the 3/8-mile oval on Saturday as well as Jan. 5 and Jan. 8-9.
