Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (Nov. 18, 2015) – Brandon Hanks rebounded from a sour start to the night last Saturday during the USCS Fall Nationals at Riverside International Speedway, where he wrapped up his 2015 season with a top-10 result.

The night began with the David Smith Racing entry finishing where it started – sixth – in a USCS heat race on the quarter-mile oval.

“I had a left rear shock break on me in the heat race,” Hanks said. “I went into the first corner and the whole left side came off the ground and the car went all the way up to the wall. I was trying not to wreck the thing after that. I’d go in the corner and the left rear would come off the ground. We changed the left rear shock for the B Main and it was fixed.”

Hanks then placed seventh in the consolation race to lock his team into the 40-lap main event.

“What screwed us up for the B Main was we didn’t know what kind of car we had since I didn’t really have anything to drive for the heat,” he said. “We were pretty good. I was just a little too tight.”

The crew adjusted the setup prior to the feature, which Hanks started on the inside of the 11th row.

“We had our car pretty close for the A Main and were able to move forward,” he said. “We were moving up through the field pretty good. Everybody was running the top. It was the fastest way around. You had to run around the top and do slide jobs to get positions. You had to try to keep as much of your momentum as you could.”

Hanks powered from 21st to score a 10th-place finish, which was his 18th top 10 of the season.

“It’s not what we wanted, but we salvaged a top 10 out of it,” he said. “That was a good ending to the night and we have something to build on for next year.”
