Inside Line Promotions – BARTLETT, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2015) – Jason Sides recorded a top-10 finish in the 2015 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings for seventh time during his career.

“You’d like to be in the top five, but as long as you’re in the top 10 it helps you get through the winter,” he said.

Sides placed eighth in the standings this year following a season with 12 top fives, 30 top 10s, two quick times during qualifying and one feature triumph. That win – July 3 at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kan. – was the most memorable moment of the year for Sides, who hadn’t been to an Outlaws Victory Lane since late 2013.

“Everything has to fall into place to win,” he said. “You have to qualify well, make it through your heat to get in the dash and then have a great car in the feature. You have to have a lot of luck on your side as well. The track was good for us that night. We could run around the bottom. We got to lapped traffic pretty early and I think (Donny) Schatz was trapped behind a car. It all fell into place there.”

That win was the 14th career for Sides, who is tied for 24th on the World of Outlaws list.

Sides was also victorious with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Feb. 20 at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Fla., where he captured a preliminary night of the Ronald Laney Memorial.

“Kimball (with Wetherington Tractor Service, Inc.) had a lot of friends there so to win with everyone there and with all his people there and most of my family there it was great for all of us,” he said. “When you do well it gives the whole team some momentum and brings everybody up.”

Sides will head to Australia in late December to compete for nearly a month before he returns to the United States, where he will make his season debut in Florida next February.

“We couldn’t do this without all of our sponsors,” he said. “I want to give them all a special thanks as well as my family for their support. A big thank you goes to my brother, Paul, for his help and to all of the various people who have pitched in. I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for us.”
