Inside Line Promotions – SOMERTON, Ariz. (Oct. 28, 2015) – Several special perks are up for grabs during the 2nd annual Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown thanks to Glen and Kim Hanson.
The longtime racing fans who own Here 2 Wire Inc., which is an electrical contracting business in Lake Stevens, Wash., will donate $2,650 for drivers competing at the marquee 410ci sprint car event at Cocopah Speedway on Jan. 1-2, Jan. 5 and Jan. 8-9.
“I’ve known Glen and Kim for a long time and they are truly passionate fans who care about the sport,” Cocopah Speedway General Manager Greg Burgess said. “They stepped up last year for the event and we’re pleased to have them helping out again in 2016.”
The money will be awarded as follows:
• $1,000 to the driver who earns the most passing points throughout the five-race event
• $500 to the team that hauls the longest distance to compete at the event
• $500 to the Hard Charger Award winner during the Jan. 5 main event
• $650 will be split among feature finishers in positions 13 through 24 on Jan. 5
“We’re excited to be a part of the 2nd annual Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown,” the Hanson’s said. “The inaugural event was such a success and with the team Greg has around him we’re confidence that it will only get bigger and better. It’s a win for the community, fans and racers.”
The Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown features $12,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start races on Jan. 1-2 and Jan. 8-9 with a $5,000-to-win midweek event on Jan. 5.

THE EVENT –
The 2nd annual Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown will showcase the top sprint car drivers in the world in sunny Southwest Arizona during the first two weeks of January in 2016. The four weekend races pay $12,000 to the winner and at least $1,000 to every driver who advances to the main event with the midweek show paying $5,000 to win.
