Inside Line Promotions – SOMERTON, Ariz. (Oct. 21, 2015) – Brian Brown will return to Cocopah Speedway in January for the 2nd annual Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown.

The Missouri native is set to tackle the 3/8-mile oval throughout the marquee 410ci sprint car event, which features $12,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start races on Jan. 1-2 and Jan. 8-9 with a $5,000-to-win midweek event on Jan. 5.

“It’s big,” he said. “As everyone keeps buying in it will continue to grow. It’s a place you can compete for good money and try to learn some things because you have five nights at the same track. It’s so hard to try things during the season because you’re on so many conditions.”

Although Brown finished 11th in the inaugural Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown standings, he said the experience helped him jumpstart his 2015 season, which included a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory in Arizona in March.

“You can use it to pinpoint some items you want to try,” he said. “I think we came out real strong and I think that was a testament to going out there. It keeps the driver sharp and the crew thinking about racing. It breaks the winter up and keeps everyone focused on the task at hand.”

Brown, who has competed in a handful of 410ci and 360ci events at Cocopah Speedway, is hopeful his first victory at the semi-banked track will come during the Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown.

“I feel like it would be huge,” he said. “It pays really good money and the level of competition is very, very high. Last year there were 30 guys capable of winning if everything goes right. If we can go run in the top five every night and be in contention that’ll be a great week for us.”
