OCRS 2015 Season Ends; Bookout Finishes 10th in Season Standings & Is a Leading Candidate for Hard Charger of the Year Honors

Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, OK, was the final race of the 2015 OCRS season. Despite missing the transfer spot in the "A" Feature by one position, it was a good enough night for Bookout to secure 10th place in the season standings.

Bookout emerges as a strong candidate for Hard Charger of the Year for OCRS. He and two other drivers received Hard Charger recognition on three different occasions, but in counting total cars passed on those occasions, Bookout stands out on top.

The BiGFooT team recognizes Triple-X chassis and Ti-22 Performance for their components on the Bookout sprinter. Mike Stewart has been and continues to be an excellent mentor for the team. A "Stewart Engine" powered the sprinter for the first part of the season and a "STK Engine" provided the power for the final part of the season. Blane Morton's assistance in the latter part of the season was crucial to the success of the team this year.

Finish Line Coatings was a welcome partner to Michael Bookout Racing this year. The support of a quality and service leader in powder coatings industry was appreciated; a better powder coating provider can not be found! The logo attached to this week's news release symbolizes the team's appreciation of Finish Line for their support and the fact that Michael Bookout has crossed the finish line for the final time in the 2015 season.

Thanks also goes out to Jane, Michael's mom and # 1 fan, for her work in the pits each week and for her support of the racing program. John, Michael's uncle, is recognized for his support of the program both on and off the track, and Matt, Michael's brother, is recognized for his work back home in the shop.

The four years that Michael has been racing sprints has been an amazing journey. He began as a true racing rookie the first time he strapped himself into a sprinter in 2012 and advanced to claiming an "A" Feature win last season and garnering numerous "Hard Charger" awards this season along with a Top Ten Finish in the season standings. Michael spends countless hours each week in the shop and at the track working on and learning more about the car, about the sport and about himself. It has been an honor and pleasure for me, his dad, to be associated with such a quality individual and racer.

Stay tuned periodically to the website during the off season for news from the OCRS awards banquet and about plans for the 2016 season for Michael Bookout Racing.
