Callihoo Racing Race Report -Sept 12, 2015 championship night Castrol Raceway.
After a mad dash to get a motor in our car from the lost engine on Sept 5 Old timer race we were able to make it out.
First off I need to thank Al McIntosh of Max Motorsport for helping with an engine, a true teammate at it's best. I thank Chevy and Cory Goodhope at CCR Motorsport to help out assembling the parts we needed to run. Chevy, Cory and I all gathered at the shop to open up the old engine and give it our last blessings before it was giving it's death certificate Lol.
Also Thank my crew chief Sonny Tonner on helping tune the engine before we came to the track.
So we once again pulled a bad pill for our starting position of 8th in our heat race. Wayne tested the engine on hot laps and ran good and made some minor adjustments for the heat race. Wayne started at the back of the pack in 8th and quickly got up to 4th and ended up spinning the car in turn 3 to avoid hitting another car as we all was going for the same real estate which brought out the caution. No damage to the car. So started at the back again. Was able to get up to 4th and finish the race in 4th.

This gave us a transfer into the final Main race of the year to start 10th. My team worked hard to get a good set up for the final race then mother nature came and rained on our parade. The races was cancelled for the rest of the evening. This reverted back to the last race point standing due to the rain out. We are pleased to finish the 2015 season in 3rd place. So we earned a spot on the podium spot of 3rd place overall for the Castrol Raceway Championship awards Banquet. We had a very good season finishing in the top ten every night and most finishes was 5th and 6th so consistence was the key factor this year. Last year was Wayne's rookie year in a Sportsman Sprint and was rookie of the year and 9th in points.
