Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (Sept. 15, 2015) – Joe Trenca is tackling Ohsweken Speedway this weekend for the first time since he nearly registered a breakout performance in July.
Trenca and Mucci Motorsports will compete this Friday and Saturday at the 3/8-mile oval in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada, during the 11th annual Canadian Sprint Car Nationals, which is one of the premier events on his schedule.
“I’m really excited,” he said. “I really like Ohsweken. It’s a beautiful facility and a really nice track. Plus, we’re taking the motorhome so we get to bring the whole family out this weekend.”
Trenca has competed at Ohsweken Speedway once this season, which came in late July when the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series invaded the high-banked track.
“We started off really well, but didn’t run too good there at the end with the Outlaws,” he said. “We’re ready for this weekend. That track fits my driving style. I think we have a good car underneath us. If we can keep our nose clean and put ourselves in position, I think we can get a top five.”
Trenca qualified a career-best fifth during the World of Outlaws race before battling a tricky setup on the slick track in the main event.
His best result at Ohsweken Speedway was an eighth-place finish, which came during last year’s Canadian Sprint Car Nationals.
