Freeman Uses Runner-Up Result at Superbowl to Inch Closer to TOWR Championship

Inside Line Promotions – GREENVILLE, Texas (Sept. 14, 2015) – Cody Freeman is one step away from recording his first career micro sprint championship.

Freeman added another podium finish last Saturday at Superbowl Speedway to increase his TOWR championship standings. He currently holds a 44-point advantage heading into this Saturday’s season finale at the same track.

“It feels good knowing we can go back to Superbowl and not stress about points,” he said. “It’s one of my favorite tracks. We can go in relaxed and aim for the win.”

Freeman opened last Saturday’s event by maneuvering from fourth to second place in a heat race. That was good enough to put him on the pole of the 15-lap main event.

“I led about five or six laps and then the second-place driver found a better line in turns three and four,” he said. “He would go in deeper and come out on the bottom. I was going in on the bottom and sliding out.”

Freeman was passed for the lead just before the midpoint of the feature, but he maintained the runner-up position for the rest of the feature. It marked his 11th top five of the season, including six straight.

Freeman has two wins and two second-place finishes in his four races at Superbowl Speedway this year.
