Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (Sept. 11, 2015) – Brandon Hanks will take this weekend off from sprint car competition.
Hanks continues to wait for his primary engine to be rebuilt, which he expects to arrive next week in time for the David Smith Racing team to compete on Sept. 17-18 at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., for the Casey’s General Store Midwest Fall Brawl with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
“We’ve got a new car together,” he said. “We’re just waiting on a motor. I think it should get put on the dyno this weekend. I can’t wait to race again. It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve been able to get out there.”
While Hanks is anxious to return to action, the break comes at a good time as his family farm is in full swing.
“We’re in the middle of shelling corn,” he said. “We are definitely busy on the farm so I’ll spend a lot of time out there this weekend.”
