Kerry Madsen Looking For Strong Cottage Grove Result

Cottage Grove, Oregon- So far it's been a very good late summer for Kerry Madsen. The St. Marys, New South Wales, Australian has managed to post top ten finishes in every main event that he has made for a month straight. The last time he finished worse then tenth was at the Federated Auto Parts Speedway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri for the Iron Man 55, he was eleventh.
Kerry was fourth in the Friday program of the Oil City Cup in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at Castrol Raceway and finished sixth the next night. At Alger, Washington's Skagit Speedway he was tenth in the feature on Saturday September 5th and managed a sixth place result at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma on Monday the 7th. He looks to keep that momentum up at Cottage Grove Speedway on Wednesday September 9th.
“Cottage Grove is a fantastic race track,” commented Madsen, “it’s got a nice, little quarter-mile layout which makes it really quick at the start of the night and then it gets slick. It’s a really fun race track.”
Madsen and the American Racing Wheels/Keneric Racing/EarthEx/Morrison Engines #29 KPC racing team enters the Wednesday date third in World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series points. He has one win, twenty-two top fives, fifty-two top ten finishes, and has set fast time on nine occasions. His only Outlaw win in the current campaign was at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska on August 18th. The win at McCool may be his only win with the World of Outlaws in 2015 but in non-series action he has six other victories.
Madsen had a very successful visit to his country of origin with three victories in Australia. He picked up the win on the first night of the Scott Darley Challenge at Sydney Speedway in New South Wales on Janueary 16th and was the winner of the Sprintcar Kings Challenge on January 22nd in Mount Gambier, South Australia at Borderlne Speedway. Kerry would achieve a major win at the Perth Motorplex in Western Australia during the Grand Final with the World Series Sprintcars on February 21st. Before the big win at Perth Madsen would sweep the three nights of racing with the All Star Circuit of Champions at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida On February 6th, 7th, and 8th.
When it comes to Cottage Grove Speedway the former Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year award winner, with the Outlaws, has paid five visits over the years. His only top ten finish was in his first trip back in 2007 and that was a tenth place result.
“We’re looking forward to getting back there and seeing if we can get ourselves a good finish,” continued the three-time Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic and 2014 King Royal winner.
