Inside Line Promotions – PEORIA, Ill. (Sept. 8, 2015) – Jamie Ball powered to his sixth top five of the season on Saturday to cap a busy weekend for White Lightning Motorsports.

Ball kicked off the Sprint Invaders event at Peoria Speedway by winning a heat race from the pole. That locked him into the dash, where he advanced from fourth to third place.

“I had a good draw and was able to win the heat race from the pole,” he said. “So I made the dash and we tried a few different things. Right before the feature we watched the late models and thought the track was going to rubber up quickly. We loosened the car up and it didn’t end up rubbering up until about five laps to go.”

Ball battled for a podium position throughout the feature before he ended with a fourth-place finish.

“I just maintained throughout the race and ended up fourth,” said Ball, who continues to rank third in the Sprint Invaders championship standings with one race remaining this season. “Once the rubber came in we were excellent and I ran onto the bumper of the top three, but we ran out of time. It wasn’t an amazing night, but a top-five finish was a good result.”

The weekend began on Friday with Ball making his debut at Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, Mo., with the ASCS Warrior Region.

“The night started off decent,” he said. “The track was super tacky in turns one and two and extremely dry in turns three and four. There wasn’t a lot of passing early.”

Ball finished where he started – fourth – in a heat race, which lined him up on the inside of the eighth row for the main event.

“I rode around the bottom not making too much progress,” he said. “About the last 10 laps I found a line through the middle to the top and I was able to pick off about five positions. It wasn’t anything superb, but we finished all the laps, rolled the car in the trailer and gained some experience.”

Ball was credited with an 11th-place result.

Sunday’s event at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., rained out.

Ball is set to make his debut at St. Croix Valley Raceway in St. Croix Falls, Wis., on Friday for the 23rd annual Kouba Memorial and at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., on Saturday for the 15th annual Jerry Richert Memorial with the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series.
