ALLISON #1 AT ACE; NOBILE & WEST NAB “BULLRING” WINS
USAC’s HPD Midget series are on hiatus this week awaiting September 18 and 19 Western races at Madera, Calif.
Drivers Dezel West and Nolan Allison earned initial USAC victories in last week’s HPD action, while Dylan Nobile also found the winner’s circle.
West, of Henderson, Nev., scored his first-ever USAC HPD Western Midget feature victory Sunday night at the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway Bullring. He took the lead on the white-flag lap and held on to win the 30-lapper over Toni Breidinger, Michael Fanelli, Ashley Hazelton and Annie Breidinger.
Allison, of Greensboro, N.C., earned his first USAC Eastern HPD Midget feature victory Friday night at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. He passed Keegan Walmer on lap five and led the rest of the way to win the 35-lapper over Jessica Bean, Chris Lamb, Andrew Layser and Sam Hatfield.
Nobile, of Clovis, Calif., led all 30 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC Western HPD Midget race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring. Fast qualifier Jeff Kelley finished second ahead of West, Tom Paterson and Ashley Hazelton.
The USAC Eastern series is slated to resume September 26 at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, N.C.
