Inside Line Promotions – CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (Sept. 1, 2015) – Dale Blaney took advantage of a rare weekend off from the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions to do some testing.

Blaney and the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed CH Motorsports team ventured to Atomic Speedway on Saturday to tackle an Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association event.

“We were planning on doing a little testing,” he said. “It’s only an hour from George’s shop. It was a good time for us to test and try to learn something. We threw a few things at it and felt like we learned some stuff. It’s hard to pick times when you want to do some testing. We really haven’t had that opportunity most of the year. I thought Saturday was a good night for us to go learn some stuff.”

Blaney qualified sixth quickest and he advanced from third to win a heat race, which lined him up on the outside of the front row for the 25-lap main event.

“Danny Smith started on the pole and led the first five or six laps,” he said. “He got away for a minute. As soon as we got to traffic I reeled him in. I was better in turns three and four. I got a run on him and slid him.”

Blaney took the top spot approximately a third of the way through the feature.

“We had one close call on Lap 9,” he said. “A guy spun out about two cars in front of me going into turn one. He just about collected two cars. Somehow I got through there. After that I was out front. I was trying to run as hard as I could the last 16 laps there.”

Blaney maintained the lead for the remainder of the race en route to his 15th win of the season.

The Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored team also raced last Wednesday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa., during a unique event. Only six drivers were invited to compete during the match race, which consisted of six, five-lap heats to determine the overall winner.

Blaney won the first two races, finished second in the next two races and placed fourth in the final two races to end third overall.

“It was a fun event,” he said. “It also gave us an opportunity to work on a few things. We’ve been ok at Lincoln, but not great. It was an opportunity to get more laps to see if we can learn something for down the road.”

Blaney returns to All Star competition this Friday and Saturday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio; and Sunday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio.
