Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Sept. 1, 2015) – Derek Hagar is heading into an ASCS Warrior Region tripleheader this weekend.
Hagar will make his debut at Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, Mo., on Friday before returning to Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Mo., on Saturday and Sunday.
“We had a win stolen from us there earlier this year so hopefully I can redeem myself and get a couple of wins there this weekend,” he said.
Hagar led most of his debut at the track earlier this season before ending with a runner-up result, which was one of his seven second-place finishes this season.
“The goal is to win races,” he said. “We have eight wins this season and I hope to add more to that list this weekend.”
Hagar is coming off his 23rd top 10 of the season last Saturday at I-30 Speedway.
“In the heat races the track was pretty heavy and it was follow the leader through the middle,” he said. “It was greasy on the bottom and stomp and steer through the middle. We had a good first start and went from fifth to third, but they had a caution. After that everybody fell in line and that put us behind the eight ball.”
Hagar finished where he started – fifth – in a heat race, which lined him up on the inside of the eighth row for the 25-lap main event.
“There wasn’t a lot of passing,” he said. “It started slicking off through the middle, but when it does that everybody heads to the bottom and then it gets good down there. On the restarts you could run the top and get by a couple of cars, which we did to pick up a few spots.”
Hagar rallied from his 15th starting position to post an eighth-place result and earn the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.
