Inside Line Promotions – WACO, Texas (Aug. 31, 2015) – Cody Freeman captured his seventh podium finish of the season last Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.
The third-place result also pushed his advantage in the TOWR championship standings to 37 points with only three micro sprint races remaining.
“All in all it was a good night for our team,” he said.
The night began with Freeman finishing where he started – fourth – in a heat race.
“We just stayed in fourth pretty much the whole race,” he said. “There was a bottom and a middle. I was running through the middle. Everybody just got strung out and we didn’t make up any ground.”
That lined him up on the outside of the second row for the main event.
“I got up to third pretty quickly and was passing for second on the outside when a guy came up on me,” he said. “I wanted to save the car and not push the issue so I let off. After that everybody got spread out and we finished third.”
The third-place finish extended his streak of five straight top-five finishes in his home state of Texas. Freeman will return to Heart O’ Texas Speedway this Friday with the TOWR series.
