Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (Aug. 25, 2015) – Danny Lasoski continued his tear in the Midwest last weekend as he led Big Game Motorsports to its seventh FVP National Sprint League feature victory this season.
The win kicked off a two-race weekend that culminated in a pair of podium finishes for the Muddy backed team, which has earned 13 podiums in 18 races with the series. Lasoski holds an 888-point advantage in the championship standings with 10 races remaining.
“We were devastated after the Knoxville Nationals, but my guys kept their heads down and kept working hard,” he said. “That shows their dedication.”
Lasoski opened the weekend on Friday at Fairmont Raceway in Fairmont, Minn., by qualifying second quickest. He then finished fourth in a heat race to advance into the dash, where a fan randomly selected the No. 2 during the redraw to start Lasoski on the outside of the front row for the dash.
“That was one hundred percent the key to victory,” he said. “The race track was the darkest track I’ve driven on and it was really narrow. You were tip-toeing through traffic.”
Lasoski won the dash and led all 25 laps of the main event to post the 11th feature victory of the year for the Muddy sponsored team, which wrapped up the weekend on Sunday at Huset’s Speedway.
Lasoski timed in second quickest during qualifying and he advanced from sixth to fourth place during the heat race to make the feature redraw. This time he pulled the No. 5 to start the main event on the inside of the third row.
“They dropped the green and we came through the field pretty quick,” he said. “(Dusty) Zomer got the lead early. I got beside him a couple of times, but the only way I’d win was to catch him in traffic. It didn’t work out in our favor so we ran second.”
The second-place result was the team’s 33rd top five in 43 races this season.
Big Game Motorsports returns to competition this Friday at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Mo.; Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa; and Sunday at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., with the FVP National Sprint League.
