Justin Barger Triumphant in United Racing Club's Return to OCFS
Justin Barger used the outside pole starting position to cruise to Saturday nights 25 lap feature in what was the United Racing Club's first visit to the Hard Clay since 2008. A field of 22 360 Sprint Cars were in the pit area for the nights events. The United Racing Club decided to forgo a consi and instead added the 2 additional cars to the feature event. This guaranteed that everyone would go home with at least starting feature money.
The three heat races were won by Brad Franks, Robbie Stillwaggon and Davie Franek. The 6 invert pill was drawn for the feature event placing 8 time URC Champion Curt Michael on the pole. At the drop of the green it was a race to turn 1 that the 5 of Justin Barger won. Barger lead all 25 laps of the feature event. A lap 23 caution for a spinning Jimmy Stitzel in turns 3-4 bunched up the field for one last time. Barger continued have control of the feature event for the remaining 2 laps. Rounding out the top 5 was, 5g Curt Michael, 39 Ed Aikin, 28f Davie Franek and the 89 of Robbie Stillwaggon.
URC will be back in action on Saturday August 29th at Delaware International Speedway located in Delmar, DE. Pit gates open at 5pm and racing is set to begin at 7pm.
