Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 17, 2015) – Jason Sides is set for a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series tripleheader this week after a dissatisfying Knoxville Nationals.

Sides missed a transfer into the main event during two preliminary nights before he ended the 55th annual FVP Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store by finishing seventh in the C Main on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

“We made some progress, but it seemed like we didn’t get going until late in the race each night and by then we ran out of laps,” he said.

Sides opened the event last Wednesday by qualifying 13th quickest. However, he finished where he started – sixth – in a heat race, which relegated him to the B Main. Sides picked up a pair of positions to end fifth, which was one spot out of advancing into the main event.

Sides returned to the half-mile oval on Friday when he timed in 16th quickest during qualifying before maneuvering from sixth to fourth place in a heat race, which put him one spot out of locking into the feature.

“We just didn’t make it through the heat race each night,” he said. “There’s good cars that may not qualify as well and they’ll start in front of you. It makes it tough.”

Sides ended the night by finishing fifth in the B Main, which was one spot out of a transfer.

The event wrapped up on Saturday with Sides rallying from 12th to seventh place during the C Main to cap his weekend.

Sides returns to action with the World of Outlaws this Tuesday at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., and Sunday at Nodak Speedway in Minot, N.D.

“Junction is a really nice place somewhat in the middle of nowhere,” he said. “It seems to be pretty fast. River Cities, even though it’s small, races really well with a top and bottom. It’s always a fun track to go to. And Minot is a nice track as well. I’m looking forward to this week’s events.”
