Inside Line Promotions – OSKALOOSA, Iowa (Aug. 11, 2015) – Big Game Motorsports driver Danny Lasoski has clinched his unprecedented 10th Knoxville Raceway track championship entering the biggest event of the year this week.

Lasoski used a runner-up result during the 4th annual Capitani Classic on Sunday to take a 438-point advantage with one points race remaining this season.

“Our goal all year long has been to prepare for the Knoxville Nationals,” he said. “We have a lot of laps at Knoxville Raceway and fortunately most of them have been good laps, which helped us accomplish a goal of winning another track championship. There are still several goals on the table, including the major one this week.”

Lasoski and his Muddy sponsored team return to the half-mile oval this Wednesday through Saturday for the 55th annual FVP Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Store, which is the premier sprint car event in the world. He claimed the event in 1998, 2001, 2003 and 2004.

“Everybody in sprint car racing dreams about winning the Knoxville Nationals,” he said. “I’ve been fortunate to win it four times, but I have as strong of a desire to win No. 5 as I ever have and I think we’ve got a great shot at standing atop the podium.”

Lasoski enters the event with momentum thanks to a night of second-place efforts on Sunday. The Muddy backed team timed in second quickest during qualifying before finishing second in a heat race and the pole shuffle. Lasoski maintained a spot on the podium throughout the main event – even leading Laps 14-19 – before he ended second.

“Hats off to Shane Stewart and his team for winning,” he said. “We really wanted to win, but we just came up one spot short.”

The weekend concluded on Monday at Southern Iowa Speedway for the Front Row Challenge with the FVP National Sprint League.

Lasoski timed in seventh quickest during qualifying. He then finished where he started – fifth – in a heat race to lock into the 10th starting position for the main event.

“Track position was critical all night and we just never had it,” he said. “The track was fast and there wasn’t a lot of passing so we took what we could get.”

Lasoski stayed inside the top 10 throughout the feature before placing 10th, which was his 34th top 10 of the season. He currently leads the FVP National Sprint League championship standings by 746 points.
