Mega Road Trip On Deck for Brent Marks Racing
Finishes Second at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, July 31

Myerstown, PA (August 3, 2015) – After recording two consecutive top-ten finishes close to home in central Pennsylvania over the weekend, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks will move ahead and prepare his team for a nine day trek back on the road with some of the nation’s most talented sprint car teams. Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, BAPS Auto Paint & Supplies, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Diamond Toyota, Russell Heller Builders, #19M, will join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and the FVP National Sprint League during his travels through the midwest, visiting three different ovals in two different states including the notorious Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.
“We have a lot to prepare for” said Brent Marks, “We are excited for this opportunity. This trip is going to be demanding but I feel we are ready for it. Hopefully we can travel out there and make our presence known each and every night. Our goal is finish higher than we did last year during our trip to the Knoxville Nationals. Our Saturday night last year was cut a little short. We want to make our fans, supporters and sponsors proud of our efforts.”
Brent Marks Racing will ignite their journey through the midwest with action at the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania native will join the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at the Pevely, Missouri high-banks for the “Ironman 55” weekend. The event will feature two complete programs for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series “410” sprint cars.
On Sunday, August 9, Marks will visit the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa for the 4th annual “Capitani Classic” featuring a full Knoxville Championship Cup Series program. The “Capitani Classic” will give Marks a great opportunity to fine tune his team before “Knoxville Nationals” action begins the following Wednesday.
The annual “Front Row Challenge” at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa will highlight travel plans for Brent Marks Racing on Monday evening, August 10. The $20,000-to-win, FVP National Sprint League program will be the last stop for “BMR” before docking in Knoxville, Iowa for the remainder of their trip.
Brent Marks will end his swing through the midwest back at the “Sprint Car Capital of the World.” The 55th annual FVP “Knoxville Nationals” at Knoxville Raceway will feature four consecutive days of “410” sprint car competition on August 12-15. Marks will join the best sprint car drivers in the world for a shot at the coveted $150,000 top prize on Saturday night, August 15. Marks is scheduled to qualify on Thursday evening, August 13.
The familiar “19M” operation will enter their busy August stretch with a pair of recent top-ten finishes against the ‘Pennsylvania Posse,’ which included a runner-up performance at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday night, July 31. Marks led a majority of the main event before surrendering the top spot with less than five laps remaining. Marks would wrap up the weekend with an 8th place finish at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 1.
“Friday was pretty good” said Brent Marks, “Almost got the win but the car fell off the last few laps and we lost the lead. We were still in contention for the win, so that is something to be proud of. It was a little frustrating, but we’ll keep working on it. We had some issues on Saturday at Port Royal. Had to start 15th but still worked our way up to finish 8th. I’m proud of my team. These guys work hard. The first win is always the toughest to get. We’ll get it done soon.”
