Inside Line Promotions – OHSWEKEN, Ontario, Canada (July 30, 2015) – Joe Trenca is coming off a solid week of racing, which included the Mucci Motorsports driver tying his career-best result with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

Trenca earned a top 10 last Thursday during his season debut at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, N.Y., before his 15th-place finish with the World of Outlaws on Sunday at Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, N.Y.

The week was capped on Tuesday at Ohsweken Speedway, where Trenca scored his first career top-five qualifying effort with the World of Outlaws before ending 20th in the feature.

“It’s been a good week,” he said. “We’ve had some bright spots racing with the World of Outlaws and have learned some things about the car and setup as well.”

The action began last Thursday at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park with Trenca placing third in a heat race and second in the dash to garner the 10th starting position for the main event. He advanced to sixth before a caution on Lap 8 and climbed as high as fourth place by Lap 10 before ending with a sixth-place result.

“I just picked cars off one at a time,” he said. “We put a hard tire on because the track was real abrasive. The cautions really hurt us. A lot of guys who put regular tires on had bald tires at the end. If the race would have went straight through without cautions it would have helped us. It’s a gamble you take sometimes.”

Trenca then tackled Lebanon Valley Speedway on Sunday, when he timed in 18th quickest during qualifying, maneuvered from sixth to fourth place during a heat race and picked up a trio of positions during the feature to post a 15th-place finish on the narrow track. It tied his best result with the World of Outlaws, which he set last year.

“We went there to get some seat time,” he said. “We have a smaller 410 (engine) so we knew we’d be behind the eight ball. We learned some things on the car. I passed a few guys. I was happy with the night. It’s a boost any time you can get a top 15 with the Outlaws running with them only a few races during the season.”

Trenca wrapped up his week of competition on Tuesday at Ohsweken Speedway. He opened the night by qualifying fifth quickest.

“We timed good, which was great,” he said. “I didn’t have my crew chief with me and I made some wrong calls in the heat race. The track got really, really slick. It was my fault by making a couple of bad calls. It turned a good night into a bad night.”

Trenca was unable to finish his heat race. He bounced back during the Last Chance Showdown to place third, which earned a transfer into the main event. Trenca then ended 20th on the tricky track.

He is slated to compete this Friday at Brockville Ontario Speedway in Brockville, Ontario, Canada, with the World of Outlaws. Trenca’s schedule for Saturday is to be determined.
