The second double-header weekend of three in a row took place for the OCRS this past weekend at Ardmore and Ada, OK. After a 5th place finish in the heat and a 13th place finish in the "A" Feature at Ardmore on Friday, Michael Bookout stomped onto the scene at Ada on Saturday. It was the one year anniversary of his horrific flip at Ada in 2014. This year Bookout made an impression by his dominating performance in his heat race and strong performance in the "A" Feature. Leading from flag to flag in his heat, with a straight-a-way lead at the finish on the largest track in the series, Bookout took home his first win of the season in the Finish Line Coatings sprinter with a STK racing engine on loan from Blane Morton of Morton Excavating of Coweta.
Starting on the pole in the "A" Feature, Bookout sprinted out to an early lead for several laps before eventual winner Whit Gastineau passed him. Late in the race, Bookout and Shane Sellers traded passes in a classic sprint car battle. When it was all over, Bookout matched his high performance of the season with another 5th place finish in the "A". The Ti22 Performance sprinter was a rocket at one of the high speed tracks on the OCRS circuit.
The BiGFooT team especially thanks Blane Morton and his brother for spending countless hours helping Michael with engine work the past week. It all came together with the strongest performance of the season thus far.
News and press releases from the OCRS have mentioned Bookout recently in their Nut'z n Bolt'z mini-stories as noted below:
In-House Education: Michael Bookout and his father Bob are improving all the time with their Bigfoot Racing team. The duo chooses not to hire a wrench to do their work for them. Instead, they ask questions and do their own work. They recently earned two Action Auto Collision Hard Charger awards back-back and earned their first heat race win of the year at OSP Saturday while getting their second top five of the year. All this from guys who didn’t race anything before. NADA! Look for Bigfoot to start stomping the ground even harder.
My New Best Friend: Action Auto Collision recently came on board as the new Hard Charger sponsor for 2015. It is one of the awards the series offers that pays cold hard cash. In the two races held since company owner Rob Forehand graced the series with his support, Michael Bookout has collected both times. Forehand has now become Bookout’s new best friend. Who says money cant buy friendships?
