Hahn Seeking to Improve on Montana Stops with trips to Gillette and Black Hills

SAPULPA, Okla. (July 22, 2015) The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour’s annual excursion to “Big Sky Country” was an overall fair trip for Blake Hahn and the Lucas Oil No. 52 with the weekend stop at the Electric City Speedway and Billings Motorsports Park yielding eight and 12th place finishes.

“Friday started off really good. We won our Heat by over five seconds so that put us in the redraw where we drew the No. 7 but the rain delay made it hard to pass in the feature,” said Hahn. “You had to be really careful not to miss your line, and the car started getting better as the race went on and the track slicked off, but considering we are still trying to get the car right from our crashes in Washington, I wasn’t disappointed with eighth.”

Moving to the Billings Motorsports Park on Saturday, the CSR Garage No. 52, the night again stated off with speed.

“We moved from fourth to second in our Heat, and that put us in the redraw again. We drew second, but I just messed up on the start trying to get the lead,” said Hahn. “I got really lucky they had two starts called back because we had a lot of damage to the car. I just can’t thank all the teams enough that jumped in and helped get me back on the track because the car was rolling nice and we were able to get back up to 12th.”

Looking to the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour’s debut at the Gillette Thunder Speedway, Hahn’s first look at the three-eighths mile oval was positive, “The track kind of reminds me of Lubbock. They say this place slicks off so I’m looking forward to racing.”

Anticipating the series return to the Black Hills Speedway on Friday, Blake looks to improve on last year’s 22nd place finish, “We were rolling good at Rapid City, but just got tangled up on the start of the feature so I am really wanting another crack at that track. For a half-mile, it was really good in the Heats and you could move around, it just went to dust in the feature.”
