Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. (July 21, 2015) – The trophies continue to pile up for Jack Dover, who picked up his ninth win during the past dozen races last Thursday at I-80 Speedway.

Dover’s win was his seventh in the last eight Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints features, which moves him within 11 points of the championship standings lead despite missing a race. It was also his 10th triumph of the season, marking his fifth time in the last six seasons registering double-digit victories.

“Hopefully this momentum continues throughout the Knoxville Nationals,” he said. “Confidence and figuring this car out and great horsepower are the three ingredients to the success.”

Dover opened last Thursday’s race by maneuvering from fourth to win a heat race.

“I think we got the lead on the first lap,” he said. “The track was real racy. We could go wherever we wanted. I jumped up to the top and got around everybody. After that I was trying different lines to see where my car would go. It was good anywhere.”

The heat race result locked Dover into the feature redraw, where he pulled the highest number – eight – to start the 25-lap feature on the outside of the fourth row.

“I fell back to 11th or 12th in the first five laps because anywhere I’d go there’d be a car,” he said. “I just calmed down and focused and started picking cars off one by one. The best line that I found was in the middle because everybody was on the bottom and throwing moisture to the middle. So that’s where I started running.”

Dover rebounded into the runner-up position before a late-race caution gave him a shot to take the lead.

“On the restart I drove around Don Droud Jr. and took the lead going into turn three,” he said. “I pulled away from there.”

Dover is aiming to continue his winning ways this Friday and Saturday at Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kan., for the 59th annual Hutchinson Grand Nationals with the NCRA. He has claimed the marquee event during each of the past two years.

Dover will also race on Sunday at Double X Speedway in California, Mo., with the ASCS Warrior Region.
