Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 20, 2015) – Big Game Motorsports extended its podium streak to 10 consecutive races following a pair of top-three finishes by Danny Lasoski last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

With the results on Twin Features Night the Muddy backed team now leads the championship standings by 302 points with four points races remaining at the famed half-mile oval.

“Any time you can get a podium at Knoxville it’s a pretty good night,” Lasoski said. “We were wanting to win both. I don’t think I’ve done that since 1996. In today’s racing it’s tough because everyone has good engines and good race cars.”

Lasoski, who is the only driver to sweep Twin Features Night twice during his career (he also did it in 1990), kicked off the event by qualifying second quickest. He then charged from sixth to win a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the front row for the first main event.

“I didn’t do a very good job,” he said. “I made some bad race decisions. The first race was 100 percent driver error.”

Lasoski battled for the lead throughout the main event before ending third. However, he was credited with a runner-up result after the winner was disqualified.

The Muddy sponsored sprint car lined up on the outside of the seventh row for the second feature since it was inverted by cars finishing on the lead lap during the first main event.

“We came in and made some adjustments for the second one,” he said. “With that race and format the first five or six laps I was very, very aware because back in there anything can happen and usually does. I didn’t really start charging until about five or six laps in. By the time I got to third the front two guys got away from us.”

Lasoski maneuvered from his 14th starting position to post a third-place finish. It marked the 21st top five of the season for the team, which will tackle the FVP National Sprint League Speedweek this week with races on Tuesday at Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa; Wednesday at Iowa State Fair Speedway in Des Moines, Iowa; Thursday at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minn.; and Sunday at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D. The team will also return to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.

“We’re going in just like any race,” he said. “We’ll try to go to Britt and win the race. After Tuesday is over we’ll worry about Wednesday. We have a really good team. Those guys work their tails off at the shop. It’s been really hot out here and seeing how hard the crew works gives me that extra motivation to sweat it out with them.”
