Logan Forler didn’t plan to race Sunday night at Huset’s, but a late decision to travel to the speed plant would result in his first win at the speedway.
Forler took the initial lead with the Steve Forler Trucking #2L of the 25 lap Dollar Loan Center Outlaw Sprint feature. Clint Garner and Matt Juhl battled for the second spot for much of the race and narrowed the margin on the leader in lap traffic. With less than five laps remaining, Garner was looking to Forler’s inside, but the Boise, Idaho, driver held strong on the cushion to drive to the win.
It was a similar story in the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop IMCA RaceSaver sprint division as Dalton Johnson took his first career win at Huset’s Speedway.
Johnson thanked several people in victory lane, including his father who owned the Team Crown #27 that won several features in the 360 sprint division in years past.
Elliott Amdahl started the first time winner trend when he held off Greg Gunderson for the win in the micro sprint cars.
In the Bolte’s Roll-off Service Street Stock, Darrin Korthals took over the lead on the seventh laps to pilot the 11K to his third victory of the season.
The finish of the hobby stock feature was an exciting one with Dustin Gulbrandson making a pass of Jim Baartman in the final turn to swipe the victory. It was Gulbrandson’s third trip to victory lane this year.
Up next at Huset’s is the FVP National Sprint League this Sunday night. The street stocks, hobby stocks and micro sprints also join the night of action.
