The “Gas Man” returned to victory lane for the seventh time on Thursday night at I-80 Speedway as the Nebraska 360 sprint series took part in the opening night of the 5th annual Silver Dollar Nationals.
Thursday night’s 25-lap Speedway Motors A feature event started with point leader Billy Alley on the pole in front of 18 other winged warriors
Alley set a dominating pace early on, but with ten laps to go, Alley spun out in turn two while leading the race. Alley was sent to the rear of the field, and Don Droud Jr. took over as the leader.
Droud’s time up front was short-lived as Jack Dover took the lead for good the lap following the restart. Dover set sail and run away from the field until a caution came out with four laps to go. The culprit was, for the second time, Billy Alley.
Dover nailed the restart, and from there, the Home Pride Motorsports number 53 from Springfield, Nebraska took the checkered flag. It was Dover’s seventh win of the 2015 Carpetland Nebraska 360 sprint series season.
Don Droud Jr. crossed the line in second with Jason Danley finishing third. Seth Brahmer and Cody Ledger finished fourth and fifth respectively. Seth Brahmer got an extra 300.00 cash prize after being chosen as the ESI Podium draw. Dover also received the Select Auto Hard Charger award 200.00
The next stop on the 2015 Nebraska 360 sprint car tour is on Tuesday, August 18 as the series heads to McCool Junction Nebraska. The series is featured witht the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and unsanctioned late models.
