Inside Line Promotions – NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (July 13, 2015) – Jason Sides earned a pair of top 10s last weekend at Cedar Lake Speedway with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

Sides, who kicked off the doubleheader on Saturday by qualifying 22nd quickest before placing seventh in a heat race, maneuvered from fifth to second place during the Last Chance Showdown to garner the 21st starting position in the main event.

“The bottom was still pretty good,” he said. “The top went away in turns three and four and it slowed down during the main event. The bottom was really good coming off turn four. Turns one and two were kind of equal from the top to the bottom. If you could get slowed down and right around those tires you could get a good drive off the exit of turn four.”

Sides did just that as he rallied from 21st to record a sixth-place result to garner the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

He continued to move forward on Sunday at the third-mile oval.

“Going into last night’s race we had the quickest time in our hot lap group, but we only got one lap in,” he said. “We broke a u-joint in hot laps. That was one of those things where we didn’t get to watch the track at all during qualifying. By the time we got done repairing the car we were two or three cars out from our run. We didn’t get a good feel for the race track.”

Sides timed in 15th quickest during qualifying, which missed the heat race inversion. He then advanced from fifth to third place during a heat race to lock himself into the 14th starting position for the 35-lap feature.

“The bottom wasn’t as good as Saturday and the top was better,” he said. “The car was getting better toward the end of the race as the fuel burned off and the track slicked off. I wish it would have been a 40-lapper or 50-lapper.”

Sides picked up a handful of positions to post a 10th-place result, which marked his 27th top 10 of the season.

He returns to action on Wednesday at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio, for the Brad Doty Classic, and Friday and Saturday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, for the 32nd annual Kings Royal with the World of Outlaws.
