[b SEBASTOPOL, CA 10-11-09 -] Each race car driver in nearly every type of venue has his or her favorite event or track in which they compete. For Sebastopol’s Bradley Terrell, his annual favorite happens to be the final big California event of the year, the Trophy Cup at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway.

Terrell returns to his favorite event Oct 23-24. The 16th Annual race that benefits the Make A Wish Foundation will be Terrell’s third consecutive return to the event aboard his family owned Millhouse Glass, Argonaut Construction #43 Sprint Car.

“I always look forward to the Trophy Cup, its one of my favorite races of the year,” said Terrell. “I think we have a shot a good finish this year. We’ve done pretty well there the past two years and that should definitely work in our favor.”

In 2009 Terrell drove his way to sixth place in heat race competition in the 15th Annual Trophy Cup. On the preliminary night of competition he drove his way to a fifth place finish, just one spot out of a final transfer position for the preliminary A-feature. On the final feature event Saturday night, Terrell wrapped up his Trophy Cup run with a 7th place finish in the B-feature.

“I was really happy with our run last year,” said Terrell. “I missed the A on Friday night by just one spot. Hopefully this year I can position myself to get a higher starting position for Saturday night.”

This year the Trophy Cup format is packed into two nights of competition with preliminary events taking place on Friday night and the final night of feature events taking place on Saturday night. Drivers are awarded points for their success in qualifying and preliminary competition. The point totals determine the feature events in which they are eligible for and their respective starting positions. The format is very unique and favored by drivers and race fans. Most importantly the entire weekend of racing benefits the Make a Wish Foundation.

Earlier this season, Terrell wrapped up a successful year of competition at his hometown track of Petaluma Speedway. Competing in the All Pro Winged Sprint Car Championship, Terrell gained much media attention and fan following as he battled with defending track champion Alissa Geving throughout the campaign.

A late season incident in which a lapped car sent him upside down and caused a DNF at a crucial time in the points chase debited Terrell a number of points entering the final weeks of competition. Despite the set back Terrell kept his chin up and his foot down to drive to a respected second place finish in the standings. During the season Terrell scored three feature event finishes during the year at Petaluma, driving for veteran car owner Jim VanLare while using his family owned car for special events such as the Civil War Series and the Golden State Challenge.

“I really have to thank Jim Vanlare and his whole family for the Petaluma Season,”: added Terrell. “They gave me a great opportunity in their car and gave me a very competitive car every week. I’m very thankful for everything they gave me.”

This weekend, Terrell returns to the seat of the familiar blue white and orange #43 car with his family team. With the support of his family, friends and crew he will begin his quest for the 16th Annual Trophy Cup as one of 72 entrants that have signed up for the event.

Bradley Terrell ‘s financial supporters for the #43 sprint car include Argonaut Const, Millhouse Glass, the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians, Randy Hanson Auto Body and Paint. Vanlare Steering Repair, A1 Shower and Mirror Incorporated, DK Embroidery, Knockout Signs, Santa Rosa Moving & Storage, Altes Engineering, and 4 Wheel Parts.
