Inside Line Promotions – FINDLAY, Ohio (July 7, 2015) – Dale Blaney put together another consistent weekend with the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions to enter one of the most special events with momentum.

Blaney guides the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed CH Motorsports team into Saturday’s Lou Blaney Memorial, which honors his father, at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio.

“I raced there pretty much every week my first three years,” he said. “The track has a long history. It has been in operation for 75 to 80 years. And this race is special. I’ve run second a couple of times. My brother won it last year and I ran second to him. That was a special night.”

There has been a different winner of the $10,000-to-win event each year and Blaney is looking to add his name to that list. With a fresh engine, Blaney, who is All Star championship standings leader, will be a favorite to capture his seventh series victory of the year.

He is coming off three top-10 finishes with the All Stars, beginning last Friday at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pa. Blaney qualified 12th overall and he finished second in a heat race to advance into the dash. He then maneuvered from eighth to fifth place in the dash to start the main event on the inside of the third row.

“We really had a good opportunity Friday at Mercer,” he said. “I felt like I was 10 feet away from winning the race. About Lap 12 I had driven by Lee Jacobs for third and I was probably 10 feet from the start-finish line when the caution came out. It put me behind him on the restart and showed him where to run. He ended up winning the race. If it’s not for that yellow at that time we had an opportunity to win the race. Then I made my way from fourth to seventh trying to drive around the top of guys. We had a really good car, but the results didn’t show it.”

Blaney finished with a seventh-place result.

The Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored team returned to Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday, when Blaney qualified third quickest overall, won a heat race and placed fourth in the dash.

“We got another untimely yellow with seven laps to go in the feature,” he said. “I had just passed Parker Price-Miller for second and it was going to get interesting between Ryan Smith and myself. Out in the open he was better than I was. I just couldn’t do anything. In traffic we had a good opportunity to win the race.”

Smith took advantage of a clean track on the restart and Blaney maintained the runner-up result, which marked his 21st top five of the season.

The weekend concluded on Sunday at Millstream Speedway, where Blaney timed in seventh quickest during qualifying and finished third in a heat race to narrowly miss the dash. That started him on the inside of the fifth row for the main event.

“I really didn’t make much speed and wasn’t that great all night,” he said. “The track was rough and choppy in spots, slick in spots, dusty in spots. It had pretty much every element you wanted. We just weren’t balanced all night. It was a survival night and we made it through.”

Blaney maintained a top 10 throughout the feature before ending eighth. He holds a 147-point advantage in the championship standings entering this weekend’s event at Sharon Speedway.
