Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (July 7, 2015) – Brandon Hanks is refreshed after taking last weekend off.
Hanks bested family and friends at a local go-kart track to garner a trophy and a much needed energy boost heading into the heat of the summer.
“I feel like my batteries are recharged,” he said. “Now it’s back to the sprint car stuff.”
Hanks will again take this weekend off from racing, but he will spend plenty of hours in the shop. He is due to receive a fresh engine this week as well as pick up a new J-R1 chassis, which will be assembled as a backup car.
“It’s been a busy day in the shop and that will continue throughout this week and probably into next week,” he said. “It will be great to have our other engine back and to have a backup car.”
The David Smith Racing team will then tackle a pair of races with the ASCS Gulf South Region or the ASCS Red River Region on July 17-18.
