Brent Marks Ends Speedweek Campaign Tied for Fifth in Final Standings
Back to Williams Grove and Port Royal on July 10th/11th

Myerstown, PA (July 6th, 2015) - Brent Marks Racing followed the entire Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek presented by Jake’s Wayback Burgers tour in 2015; entering eight events over ten days through areas of Pennsylvania and northern Maryland. Brent Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, BAPS Auto Paint & Supplies, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Diamond Toyota, no. 19M ‘410’ sprint car, finished his 2015 speedweek campaign with three top-five and five top-ten finishes. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania native accumulated 846 speedweek points during the eight race schedule; ending his trek tied for fifth in the final standings. Despite the periods of success, Marks still feels their speedweek campaign lacked consistency, which ultimately eliminated the ‘19M’ team from the speedweek championship.
“We didn’t have the speedweek we wanted” said Brent Marks, “We were hopeful to get a few wins and contend for the title but things didn’t go our way. We had some obstacles to overcome; still recording a few good runs but also having some bad ones. The consistency wasn’t there. Regardless, we learned a lot during the week and we can use that to build our program. It’s taking a lot of time to get things where they need to be, but I feel we will get there soon.”
Brent Marks Racing kicked off their 2015 Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek campaign with a fifth place finish at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday, July 26th. Marks would earn a second consecutive top-ten finish on Sunday night, June 28th at the Path Valley Speedway Park in Spring Run, Pennsylvania; finishing sixth during feature competition. The ‘Myerstown Missile’ would earn a third consecutive speedweek top-ten finish on Monday evening, June 29th at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. Marks would finish 8th in the ‘Pigeon Hills’ on Monday night.
After a rainout on Tuesday evening, June 30th at Grandview Speedway, the 2015 Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek schedule would move on to the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland on Wednesday evening, July 1st. The familiar ‘19M’ team finished 14th at the Hagerstown half-mile; the worst finish of their 2015 speedweek venture.
Brent Marks would earn back to back 11th place finishes during the next two rounds of Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek competition; first at the Lincoln Speedway on Thursday, July 2nd and again on Friday, July 3rd at Williams Grove Speedway.
Despite three consecutive performances outside of the top-ten, Brent Marks Racing would return to their highly-competitive ways on Saturday and Sunday, July 4th & 5th; earning a 4th place finish at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 4th and a fifth place finish at the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania on Sunday, July 5th.
“We needed to capitalize on a few more opportunities” said Brent Marks, “I just want to thank this entire team. We have a hard working group. They dedicate a lot of time to this race team. I also want to thank all of our sponsors. We have a large amount of support this year and we appreciate all they do for us. Hopefully I can reward them and get this ‘19M’ in victory lane soon.”
Brent Marks will return to competition this Friday and Saturday with a pair of events in central Pennsylvania. Marks and the ‘BMR’ operation will visit the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday evening, July 10th, followed by a trip north to Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, July 11th. Marks will enter the weekend currently fifth in the central Pennsylvania sprint car standings.
