Callihoo Racing Race Report June 6, 2015 - Castrol Raceway
June 6 was a great day for weather aliitle too hot but was a nice day and great evening for a race. We were in heat #2 and started 3rd and finished 6th out of 8 cars. We admits he made a mistake on the green flag start but was able to get back one position before the end of the race. Race car was good but track was rough. So this put us way back for the start of the main race. We started 19th of 22 cars for the 25 laps Main race. On the start Wayne was able to pass 6 or so cars on the start. Track started off with some moisture but quickly dried after a few laps. We had a couple of cautions and on the restarts Wayne passed a few more cars and kept moving forward. We finished the race 5th to add to our 6th place finish on May 9th race.
As of today June 9th we do not have the official points - as of today unofficial we are 4th in points out of 26 cars. Being only our 2nd year in Sportsman Sprints we are pleased with our results and hope to keep the pattern going. So far we finished 6th or better every race. Wayne was very happy to have a full pit crew this past weekend with, Tara Martel, Dustin Paquette, Crystal Callihoo, Kelly Daniels and Sonny Tonner as crew Chief. Having a full crew for the first time was a blessing for making changes on the car for the main race, thanks again to the hard work the crew did this past weekend. We would of never finished so well if not for our crew. Congrats to our Teammate Dan Cornelius on having a great race in the Northern Alberta Mini Stocks running a strong 3rd in the main race but lost a left front tire. Dan has been battling a fuel issue with his car and was pleased to have it fixed and behind him, great driving Dan. Also Thanks to Cory Goodhope and Chevy Goodhope on tuning the engine for us before the race great sponsor support from Cory and Chevy at CCR Motorsport.
Castrol Raceway dirt oval track schedule change..
Due to the large number of the local 360 sprints that are planning to compete at the Skagit Dirt Cup on June 27,2015 Edmonton's Castrol Raceway made the following schedule change.
June 13,2015....360 Sprints, Wissota Late Models, Super Stocks
June 27,2015....Sportsman Sprints, NPP Late Models, W.C.Mods
So we will not be racing this weekend frown emoticon See you all On June 27th at Castrol Raceway.
