The absolute best of the best descend upon the wild west town of Dodge City next weekend, as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series takes to the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval for the annual “Boothill Showdown”.
The world’s premier Sprint Car drivers will battle it out over the course of two full nights atop the DCRP clay, providing their own specialized brand of fireworks on the track on Friday and Saturday night, July 3-4.
With tickets going quickly, fans can still obtain their weekend tickets in advance at https://dirtcar.ticketforce.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=160. Those purchasing a two-day package will receive a free fan pit pass.
Reigning series champion Donny Schatz has been red-hot as of late on the Outlaw trail, running his season total to 16 wins with a run of five straight wins that was finally snapped last night by Kasey Kahne Racing rep Brad Sweet.
Repping Tony Stewart Racing, Schatz reached DCRP victory lane in 2013.
The dominant force in recent “Boothill Showdown” action has been Oklahoma native Daryn Pittman. Pittman swept through both nights last year after splitting 2013 honors with Schatz.
While Pittman has four Dodge City wins, Joey Saldana it atop the win charts in southwest Kansas with five career victories at DCRP.
Along with Schatz, Pittman, Saldana and Sweet, other top World of Outlaws contenders expected for next weekend include Shane Stewart, Kerry Madsen, Paul McMahan, Jason Sides, David Gravel, Kraig Kinser, Jason Johnson, Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allen.
Along with the World of Outlaws “Boothill Showdown”, the 2015 slate of events at Dodge City Raceway Park includes 15 nights of competition with a number of special events along the way. The track’s full slate of events is available at http://www.dodgecityraceway.com/schedule/.
