Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 30, 2015) – Derek Hagar has been a podium machine the past month.

Hagar registered his eighth podium finish in his last 10 races Saturday at I-30 Speedway with the USCS Series.

“It’s all about being consistent,” he said. “We’ve had some real good races and I think we can capitalize on this.”

The night began with Hagar charging from sixth to a second-place result during a heat race on the quarter-mile bullring.

“I think we were second in points and they drew a four for the feature inversion,” he said. “It rained a bunch on Friday and they really couldn’t do much to the race track. The track started breaking up on the bottom and it kept some good moisture all night. You had to bounce through the holes and drive the car real smart.”

Hagar fell to fourth place from his third starting position before picking up a position several laps into the main event.

“You really couldn’t get a run to get around anybody,” he said. “I started moving my line and found something that worked. It was slick down the straightaways and rough and heavy in the turns. You couldn’t get by anybody unless they messed up.”

Hagar finished with a third-place result, which marked his 10th top five of the season.

He will return to USCS competition this Thursday at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway in Paragould, Ark., Friday at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Ark., and Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark.

“We’ve had a lot of wins at Crowley’s Ridge,” he said. “I think we can keep the momentum going and click off another win. Batesville is a big race track where you have to keep your tires on the car. I think my Silver Crown experience will help with that. Hopefully the weather holds off and we can keep our momentum going at Riverside.”
