Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 29, 2015) – Big Game Motorsports and Danny Lasoski continued their dominance in the Midwest last weekend by registering another feature victory.
The Muddy sponsored team was victorious on Saturday during an FVP National Sprint League event at Knoxville Raceway. The win increased Lasoski’s lead in the NSL championship standings to 161 points and his advantage at Knoxville Raceway to 210 points.
“That just shows what this team is made of,” he said. “The crew has put in endless hours and worked really hard. Guy Forbrook has worked hard on our engine program. It sure makes my job a lot easier knowing when I hop in the car everything will be on point.”
Lasoski kicked off Saturday’s event by qualifying third quickest around the half-mile oval. That lined him up on the outside of the third row for a heat race, which Lasoski capped by charging to a runner-up result.
That locked the team into the feature redraw where Lasoski pulled the No. 3 to start the 25-lap feature on the inside of the second row.
“We had a pretty decent draw,” he said. “We knew the two guys on the front row would do everything they could to knock the cushion to the fence. We had to think of our game plan and low and behold the race track cleaned off one lane down and I passed both guys.”
Lasoski powered into second place in turns three and four on Lap 6. He used a similar move in the same corners during the ensuing lap to take the lead before cruising to his fifth victory in the past nine races.
“Real quickly after I took the lead it was locked-down rubber,” he said. “We’re lucky we even got to race. It rained up until Friday at 5 p.m. Those guys at the track worked through the night and through the next day to allow us to race.”
The Muddy backed team has now earned eight podium finishes in the last 10 races.
“We have to keep working at it and keep working hard because there’s always someone faster,” Lasoski said. “Right now that person is Donny Schatz. In a month or so he’ll be in Knoxville and we’ll have to have our A game. At the end of the day he’s the one everyone is shooting for.”
Big Game Motorsports will return to FVP National Sprint League competition with races on Friday at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.
