Inside Line Promotions – HUTCHINSON, Kan. (June 24, 2015) – Jack Dover is riding the wave of his career-best winning streak.
Dover scored a victory during all three races last weekend to give him five wins in a nine-day span, which topped last year’s four-race winning streak.
“We race to win every time so it’s rewarding when you put together the type of weekend we did,” he said. “We are definitely running at top speed right now and I’m looking forward to continuing this streak.”
Dover advanced from fourth to win each of the three features, including the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints doubleheader on Friday and Saturday at Butler County Speedway in Rising City, Neb.
“We’ve won a lot of races at Butler County the last few years so we had a lot of confidence going into the weekend,” he said. “We got a good draw each night in the heat race and the feature and we took advantage.”
Dover maneuvered from fourth to win a heat race both nights, which locked him into the feature redraw. He then pulled the No. 4 each time to start the main events on the outside of the second row.
“Any time you can see the lead when you start it’s an advantage, but we had to pass some really good cars,” he said. “I think we had a car capable of winning if we had started further back though. I was able to maneuver wherever I needed to and our Moss Racing Engine was stout.”
The weekend wrapped up at Kansas State Fairgrounds on Sunday, when Dover finished where he started – second – during an NCRA heat race. Once again he lined up on the outside of the second row for the main event. This time he took the top spot near the midpoint of the feature before becoming the first repeat winner with the series this season.
“It was a great way to cap the weekend,” he said. “The car was great and everything clicked.”
Dover is scheduled to compete this Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints, Saturday at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kan., and Sunday at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., with the NCRA.
