By Fully Injected Motorsports:
Myerstown, PA (June 24th, 2015) - The 25th edition of Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek presented by Jake’s Wayback Burgers is set to ignite this Friday evening, June 26th; kicking off nine nights of ‘410’ sprint car competition in Pennsylvania and northern Maryland between June 26th and July 5th. Brent Marks, pilot of the familiar Brent Marks Racing, BAPS Auto Paint & Supplies, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Diamond Toyota, no. 19M ‘410’ sprint car, will follow the entire Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek schedule in 2015; hunting for a chunk of the $25,000 point fun, as well as a career-first Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek championship. The 2015 Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek title is worth $10,000.
“We want to win this thing” said Brent Marks, “We have the potential to win this deal...we’ve been pretty good all year...we’ve been consistent and that plays a huge part in winning any type of championship...unfortunately, we haven’t found victory lane yet, but we’ve been close...we need to be a little bit better if we want to win the $10,000 title.”
The Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania will host the opening night of Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek on Friday night, June 26th. Speedweek will move ahead to the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 27th; hosting the 16th Annual ‘Kevin Gobrecht Memorial’ worth $7,000 to the feature winner. The first weekend of speedweek action will wrap up at the Path Valley Speedway Park near Spring Run, Pennsylvania on Sunday, June 28th.
After an ‘off day’ on Monday, June 29th, Brent Marks and the familiar ‘19M’ operation will make their way to the Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, June 30th. Their Grandview visit will be followed by a trip south to the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland on Wednesday, July 1st. Brent Marks will make his way back to the Lincoln Speedway on Thursday, July 2nd, followed by a return visit to the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, July 3rd. The July 3rd program will feature the annual ‘Mitch Smith Memorial’ worth $10,000 to the main event winner.
The 25th Annual Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek schedule will come to a close with a pair of ultra-fast half-mile dirt ovals on Saturday and Sunday, July 4th & 5th. Brent Marks, a former Living Legends Dream Race winner at ‘The Speed Palace,’ will visit the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 4th. All speedweek competition will come to a close on Sunday, July 5th at the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
Each of the nine scheduled speedweek programs will award $5,000 to the main event winner; with the exception of the ‘Kevin Gobrecht Memorial’ and the ‘Mitch Smith Memorial.’ A potential grand total of $250,000 in prize money will be awarded to drivers and teams by the conclusion of speedweek competition on Sunday, July 5th.
“A lot on the line during the entire week” said Brent Marks, “We are fortunate enough to live in an area where we can compete the entire speedweek schedule and still work out of our own shop...we are all pretty excited to get started...hopefully we can get over that hump next week and get the first win.”
During his most recent start, Brent Marks earned a top-ten performance at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, June 19th; finishing sixth officially during feature competition. The ‘Myerstown Missile’ is currently fifth in the central Pennsylvania sprint car standings entering speedweek competition.
