Brady Bacon – In the Middle of Ohio!

(Bill W) June 22, 2015 – The Brady Bacon Racing #99 team is holding their own during Ohio Speedweek. Brady is in the midst of a schedule that sees fourteen races in sixteen days. He registered a top ten at Attica Raceway Park Friday night in the Ohio Speedweek opener. After struggling a bit at Eldora Speedway Saturday, he checkered 12th last night at Waynesfield Raceway Park.

Fifty-eight cars showed up at Attica on Friday. Brady would come out 53rd in the order, and lay down the fourth quick time of the night. “We were pretty good in qualifying, and we got through the heat (fourth),” he says. “That put us in the Dash, but unfortunately, I can’t draw for the Dash. We drew a twelve.”

He would finish tenth, putting him outside row five for the main event. “We were really good in the beginning of the feature,” says Brady. “We were able to get up to sixth and I was passing Kasey Kahne for fifth. He moved up just in time before I got around him. That slowed my momentum and I got passed by a couple of guys.”

Brady would checker eighth. “Eighth wasn’t great, but with 58 cars…there’s a lot of good cars out here,” he says. “I haven’t been good at Attica in the past, so we’ll take that.”

Eldora is a place he has been good at, but when he timed in 39th quick, it was too big of a hole to dig out of. “I messed the car up in qualifying,” says Brady. “It had rained, but the track was dry because it was packed so hard. I just missed it. I just couldn’t come back from there. We started 19th in the B and ran ninth. We finally hit the setup, but it was too late by then.”

Last night in Waynesfield, Brady was second quick on the bullring before winning his heat from fourth. Again, he drew the twelve for the Dash and finished tenth. He would finish twelfth in the feature after suffering a tire issue. “I thought I had the car way too tight,” he says of the feature. “I found out afterwards that I had a bleeder that came loose in the right rear. We had five pounds of air, and we needed a little more than that. That was unfortunate, because I thought we had a good car.”

Brady will hit Wayne County Speedway in Orrville tonight, before moving on to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe and Fremont Speedway on Thursday. The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma driver will move on to Pennsylvania Speedweek Friday at Williams Grove Speedway near Mechanicsburg, before finishing the weekend at Lincoln Speedway near Abbottstown and Path Valley Speedway near Spring Run where he was victorious last year.
