Inside Line Promotions – LAKE STEVENS, Wash. (June 1, 2015) – Austen Wheatley has another thing to add to his to-do list.
Wheatley, who has been focused on his apparel business – Downforce Designs – is in the process of preparing his race team to embark upon a busy summer.
“We need to build a couple of new race cars before we head east,” he said. “We haven’t raced in the past couple of weeks so all of my focus has gone to the business. This summer our schedule is going to ramp up so I want to be as prepared as possible with everything in my business and race team.”
While his next race is still to be determined, Wheatley plans on competing throughout the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Speedweek, which is a marquee event that features nine races at eight tracks in nine days throughout the end of June.
He will then head directly to Central Pennsylvania for the PA Speedweek, which holds nine races at seven tracks in 10 days in late June and early July.
“We would like to get out there a week early to run a couple of local events to get everything dialed in, but that will be determined based on how quickly everything comes together,” he said.
Wheatley competed in Ohio last year during the Kings Royal with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. He also raced in a handful of events in Ohio and Pennsylvania in 2012 and 2011.
