Charlie Clark Memorial @ I-80 to Dover

After being rained out for the 3rd time this early season at Junction Motor Speedway on Saturday night, most Carpetland Nebraska Sprints didn't have much hope our race at I-80 on Sunday night would occur due to wet conditions; however, Steve Kosiski and crew had started working on the track early and it was determined the race was a "go" mid-morning Sunday, much to the surprise of many.

In spite of all the moisture in the region lately, the track was in excellent shape but wet and heavy making for super fast track. In addition to the 360 sprints, the track was also hosting A Modifieds, B Modifieds and stock cars, but track held up very well throughout the night.

With 23-360 Sprint cars in attendance, the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints were scheduled to run 3 heats. In the First Heat, Jack Dover charged into the lead from his pole position and lead the entire 8 laps, followed by Knoxville regulars Jon Agan, Don Droud, Jr and Jamie Ball.

The Second Heat saw Billy Alley race to the lead from his outside front row starting position and was never challenged for all 8 laps. Alley was followed to the finish line by Tyler Drueke, Seth Brahmer and Danny Thoman.

In the Third and final Heat, Josh Riggins lead the entire 8 laps after starting on the pole and was chased to the finish by Cody Ledger, Ryan Roberts and Jason Martin.

Not a lot of passing during the heats, as indicated by all 3 of the winners started on the first row. The track was very fast and the racing speeds were even faster. This was setting up for a fast B and A Features.

In the Last chance Qualifier B Feature, Jake Bubak was followed to the checkered flag by John Klabunde, Joey Danley and Jeff Carlson with all 4 transferring the A Main Feature.

Next up Speedway Motors A Feature
After a redraw by the top 8 in passing points earners from the Heat races, the number 1 pill for the pole position starting spot was pulled by Jack Dover with Seth Brahmer starting on the outside of the front row. The feature was scheduled for 22 laps in honor of the Charlie Clark. As the field of 20 cars took the green flag Dover jumped out to the lead followed closely by Brahmer and Billy Alley, up from his 6th starting spot. On the 3rd lap of the race Seth Brahmer got a good run and passed Dover going into turn 1. Brahmer maintained the lead for the remainder of the 3rd lap, but after getting some great momentum coming down the hill from turn 4, Dover passed Brahmer going into turn 1, resuming the lead. Dover would go on and lead 21 of the 22 laps for the win and a visit to the Speedway Motors Victory Circle and a $1322.00 payday plus $200 gift card from Speedway Motors for his win. Following Dover to the finish line was Jon Agan, Seth Brahmer, Don Droud, Jr, Ryan Roberts, Cody Ledger, Tyler Drueke, Jake Bubak, BIlly Alley and John Klabunde rounded out the top 10.
