Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (May 19, 2015) – Brandon Hanks will make his debut with a new team this weekend during an ASCS Red River Region doubleheader.

Hanks is set to compete on Friday at Timberline Speedway in Corley, Texas, and Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, in the David Smith Racing, J-R1 chassis No. 84.

“It’s the first time I won’t be driving for my dad,” he said. “I’m pretty excited about it. I just hope we can do what Mr. Smith wants us to do and that’s go out and win races. We got the car together last night. We got the motor in it and cranked it last night. I just need about two hours of work and it’ll be ready to load in the trailer.”

Hanks had hoped to debut the team last weekend with the ASCS Red River Region, but a long drive coupled with a high chance of rain kept the team at home.

“We decided since the chance of rain was so heavy and it was like a 13-hour drive for us to stay home and focus on getting the new team ready for this weekend,” he said.

Friday will mark his debut at Timberline Speedway and Saturday will be his season debut at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, where he competed four times last year.

“I’m excited to go back to a track we’ve been to with a new car,” he said. “I have some experience at Devil’s Bowl. We won a heat race there last year with the ASCS National Tour. I have an exciting weekend ahead of me. It’s a fresh start.”
