Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 18, 2015) – Big Game Motorsports is coming off another successful weekend despite Mother Nature taking two of the three races.

Danny Lasoski powered the Muddy sponsored sprint car to a runner-up result on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, where he currently leads the championship standings.

“We’re lucky that Knoxville even got the event in,” he said. “The second that Victory Lane got over it started raining.”

Rain washed out the FVP National Sprint League event at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., on Friday as well as a race at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., on Sunday. Big Game Motorsports took advantage of a break in the weather between the rainouts on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

Lasoski kicked off the event by qualifying third quickest around the half-mile oval. It marked the fifth straight race that he has qualified in the top three.

“That’s the thing about having a good car that rolls the corners and has a great amount of horsepower,” he said. “It really sets you up for the rest of the night. You’re never happy with third quick. I just made a driver error. But it put us in a good position.”

Lasoski then maneuvered the Muddy backed sprint car from sixth to win a heat race.

“Thanks to the Dunkin’s they had the race track wide where we could make some moves and put ourselves in the redraw,” he said. “Unfortunately the redraw put us starting eighth in the main event.”

The Big Game Motorsports car lined up on the outside of the fourth row for the 20-lap feature.

“It makes you practice passing cars,” Lasoski said of the high draw. “When they dropped the green flag we knew we had our work cut out. The cautions helped me because we’d get strung out and we got really good restarts.”

Lasoski methodically worked his way through the field to take second place with a handful of laps remaining. However, the leader had a sizeable advantage and was able to hold off Lasoski.

“I would have liked to have a caution near the end to see if we could have made a move,” he said. “We don’t want to run second. We’re glad we were in contention for the win, but there’s nothing short of winning.”

Big Game Motorsports is scheduled to compete in a tripleheader this weekend, beginning on Friday at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minn., with the FVP National Sprint League before racing on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway and Sunday at Huset’s Speedway with the FVP National Sprint League.
