Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (May 12, 2015) – Dale Blaney highlighted last weekend’s World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series doubleheader at Eldora Speedway with a seventh-place result on Friday.

“The first night went ok,” he said. “We put ourselves in a good position. The start of the heat race is so crucial. I just didn’t get the best start.”

Blaney opened the night in the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed sprint car by qualifying 14th quickest, which put the CH Motorsports driver on the pole of a heat race. Unfortunately, he fell to third on the start and finished in that position to miss a spot in the dash. It lined him up on the outside of the seventh row for the main event.

“Come feature time I knew we’d have a pretty decent run,” he said. “We don’t see that track very often at Eldora. It was kind of rough and choppy. My goal was to get to fifth and we got to seventh. We were pretty happy with the way it went. We have a pretty good base there and I’ve always been pretty good there. It was a pretty respectable run for us.”

It marked Blaney’s 11th top 10 – and his second with the World of Outlaws – this season.

Blaney kicked off Saturday’s race with a third-place qualifying effort before he advanced from fourth to second place in a heat race. He then maneuvered from fourth to third place in the dash to start the main event on the inside of the second row.

“We qualified better and raced better all night long until the feature,” he said. “Starting third you hope to jump to third or second on the start. I didn’t get the best start and fell back to fifth. Then we had a restart and I fell back to seventh. We finally got going eight or 10 laps into it. I felt like I got pretty good in the middle of the race.”

However, a mechanical issue popped up late in the race as the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored car was in contention for another top 10. Blaney, who was running eighth, was forced to pull into the pits with three laps remaining. He was credited with a 19th-place finish.

“That turned a pretty good weekend into a fair weekend,” he said.

Blaney will compete this Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, and Saturday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio.

He also leads the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions championship standings heading into the next All Star weekend, which is May 22 at Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Ind., and May 23-24 at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio.
