Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (May 5, 2015) – Brandon Hanks fought his race car throughout the Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass last Saturday at Riverside International Speedway.

Hanks battled a lack of balance throughout the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at the tight track, where he ended with a 23rd-place result.

“We weren’t very good all night,” he said. “We didn’t have any side bite or forward drive. We’ve had that same setup everywhere we’ve went and we’ve been really fast everywhere and then we go to Riverside and we couldn’t figure out what was wrong. It just didn’t work.”

Hanks finished third in both a heat race and a B Main after starting on the pole in each race. He closed the night by lining up on the outside of the 11th row for the main event.

“I probably would have been better off with a 305 in the car,” he said. “It just felt like it wasn’t moving. It just wouldn’t drive. We made drastic changes. We were changing bars and everything.”

Hanks had a right rear tire go flat midway through the race and he wasn’t able to get out of the work area before the race restarted.

“It just wasn’t meant to be for us,” he said. “We were lucky to the make the show. We were lucky and not good. In this sport you have to be lucky and good.”

Hanks is scheduled to compete this Thursday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., for the McCarthy Auto Group KC Klassic and Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
