Inside Line Promotions – LAKE STEVENS, Wash. (May 4, 2015) – Things are relatively quiet in the Austen Wheatley camp.
Wheatley doesn’t have plans to race more than once or twice throughout May before he embarks upon a busy schedule of competition this summer.
“I’d like to be racing each week, but there isn’t a lot of opportunity in the Northwest,” he said. “So our focus is on getting everything in order for when we head east and do a lot of racing this summer.”
Wheatley said his team will tackle the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Speedweek, which features nine races at eight tracks in nine days throughout the end of June, before invading Central Pennsylvania for the PA Speedweek – encompassing nine races at seven tracks in 10 days – in late June and early July.
“I love going back to Ohio and Pennsylvania to race against that level of competition,” he said. “The only way you improve as a driver is to compete against great drivers and go to a lot of different tracks. That’s our plan for this summer.”
Wheatley will also compete in a variety of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series events, including the Kings Royal, Summer Nationals and Knoxville Nationals.
