The Barr Motorsports team is ready to roll for round 2 of the Sprint Series of Texas race season in Abilene Texas. The team will roll out Saturday morning and head to the ¼ mile dirt oval. This will be the first visit to the track for Adam and the team. It’s been somewhat of a busy month at the Barr Motorsports shop after a month long layoff since the last race at Boyd Raceway. The boys got back from Boyd and went to work on the car getting it ready for the race in Abilene, TX. During that time off crew Chief Josh Freeman ran a couple of races with his car. Adam in turn celebrated his 6th wedding anniversary with his wife Sarah Barr as well as celebrated birthdays for Sarah and Adam. We sat down with Adam and asked what his expectations for this weekend are and he stated “Well I’m excited to go to Abilene as I've never raced there. We have studied some videos of the track and think it’s going to be like running Gator Motorplex in Willis, TX. We are still working on our setups and got some great feedback from Triple X and plan to put some of those changes into effect this weekend. Our main goal is a top 10 finish and to bring the car home in one piece.” Asking Adam about his time off this past month he stated “It’s been good time Sarah and I celebrated our anniversary and our birthdays and even had a little get away with Sarah for her birthday in San Antonio. The time off has also given me a chance to work on some projects we have in store for Barr Motorsports in future that we are finalizing right now and hopefully get to announce here pretty soon.” We asked Josh about how he spent his time off between the races he stated “We didn't get much time off I ran two races one in Denton with SHRA and one in Temple. Between those Caitlyn and I have been doing wedding stuff getting ready for our wedding in January.” When asked about his goals for this weekend he stated “First off top 10, I know we have the car, the motor and most importantly the driver that can get the job done I just need make the right changes to the car to get him there. Second goal is to just have fun and enjoy the races!” Jared Brown is joining the team this weekend in Abilene and he is excited to join the guys at the track. Make sure to follow along with the Barr Motorsports team this weekend on their Facebook page as they will be giving live updates during the night of how their races are going. Special Thanks go out to The Dent Repair Shop, Capital V Connection, Mark Barr, Simpson Race Products, and Triple X for their help this season.
