Myerstown, PA (April 29th, 2015) – The 2015 racing season is officially at full throttle for Myerstown, Pennsylvania native Brent Marks. Marks, who pilots the Brent Marks Racing, BAPS Auto Paint & Supplies, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Diamond Toyota, no. 19M ‘410’ sprint car, will spend the upcoming weekend once again in Central Pennsylvania; with scheduled stops at Williams Grove Speedway, Lincoln Speedway, and Susquehanna Speedway Park. The three-race weekend will be a second consecutive for the ‘Myerstown Missile,’ as his 2015 campaign continues to roll into the ‘busy season.’
“Our schedule really starts to pick up after this weekend” said Brent Marks, “We have a busy schedule this weekend, then we start to get busy with the World of Outlaws…this is the time of year that we love the most…we like to race as much as we can…allows us to keep up our momentum…the supporters behind this team are amazing, and the group of guys that work on our race cars do a fantastic job…that combination keeps us on the road and it allows us to maintain a busy schedule…all we need now is for me to do my part and get us in victory lane.”
Brent Marks will kick-off the upcoming weekend at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, May 1st. Marks recently visited the world famous half-mile on Friday evening, April 24th with the All Star Circuit of Champions; earning a top-ten finish with the Tony Stewart owned regional traveling series. There were thirty-nine cars entered for competition on April 24th. Marks finished sixth officially during the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win main event; earning a heat race victory along the way to automatically qualify for evening’s A-main.
Marks will continue his upcoming weekend on Saturday evening, May 2nd at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. The 12th Annual Weldon Sterner Memorial is on tap in the Pigeon Hills on Saturday; featuring a full program for the ‘410’ sprint cars including qualifying time trials. Thus far in 2015, Brent Marks has earned three top-five and three top-ten finishes at the Abbottstown dirt oval.
The ‘19M’ operation will conclude their upcoming weekend on Sunday evening, May 3rd at the Susquehanna Speedway Park near York Haven, Pennsylvania. The ‘Sunday Night Sprint Car Special’ will feature a double open-wheel program for race fans, with a URC 360/358 challenge event also taking shape at the facility. Marks finished fourth during main event action at his last appearance at ‘SSP’ back on Sunday, April 12th.
“We’ve been pretty good at all three tracks we are visiting this weekend” said Brent Marks, “Consistency plays a big part in this deal…we’ve been pretty fortunate with staying out of trouble, and we constantly put ourselves in positions to win…we just can’t quite get over that hump yet…we’ll see what we can do this weekend.”
Brent Marks earned two top-ten finishes with the All Star Circuit of Champions during the recent weekend. Besides his sixth place performance at Williams Grove Speedway on April 24th, the former ‘Living Legends Dream Race’ winner would earn a runner-up finish with the All Stars on Saturday, April 25th during the $15,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. It was Cody Darrah taking home the $15,000+ winner’s share. Marks chased the former Outlaw traveler around the Juniata County Fairgrounds half-mile for most of the 40-lap main event; getting one last-ditch effort on a very late race restart, but would fall just short.
“We were happy with our results at the Bob Weikert Memorial” said Brent Marks, “We weren’t quite good enough to get around Darrah, but we tried our best…forty-laps around Port Royal is a long race…you have to be patient, but at the same time, you can’t let whoever is racing in front of you stretch out to far…the caution with four laps to go was good and bad…Darrah had clean air so it was going to be tough to catch him or make a pass…especially with no possibility of lapped traffic…it was a great night…happy to finish second.”
The recent weekend ended with a trip to the Path Valley Speedway Park near Spring Run, Pennsylvania. Marks took part in the ‘Party at the Path’ by Fred Rahmer Promotions; finishing thirteenth in the main event on a very fast and tricky racing surface.
